Stop Motion
"Bad Aim"
It's been my dream to try and get into stop motion ever since I was little. I loved the idea of taking something going digital, like animation, and applying it to a 3D space in real life. I created everything by hand. The puppet is made out of silicone with a wired rig inside to allow it to move. The head is made out of plastic and painted with acrylic paint. The shirt is hot glued together fabric and painted with acrylic. The trees and sign is made out of cardboard. The ground is made out of paper. This was fully created from scratch within a 10 week period.

"Pick Up and Drop"
This was a fun exercise to test out weight changes in something as simple as a bag filled with sand. I loved adding details like the shadow and the snap of the rope.

"2D Walk"
I loved taking a jab at a walk in a 2D space. I really paid attention to the location of the arms within the feet, which this actually helped me understand a walk better than before. It was challenging to think a little differently, but it made me realize 2D and 3D are more similar than I think.

"2D Run Cycle"
This was a great study to connect my 3D knowledge to a 2D world to further understand what happens in the human body in a run.

"That's Mine!"
It was very rewarding to take multiple things I've learned, like weight shifts and walking, to make this piece. I have always seen the cliche 2D assignment that has the flour sack, but I was very excited to finally get a shot at doing it! It was challenging to add personality to something like a flour sack, but it was very rewarding in the end.
